israel spoke to the turkish ship ordering it to head for ashdod, this is what happens with every other aid ship, the ships go to ashdod and are searched, the aid goods are then offloaded and then shipped to the palistinians by road, thats how its done with both the red cross and the u.n. aid ships. the turks refused to do so and were adamant to break the blockade, israel sent troops over to stop the ship and to then sail it to ashdod, as the israelis boarded the ship, they were attacked by filthy islamic turks with knives and steel bars and fire bombs.......

UN chief Ban Ki-moon has demanded that Israel lift its blockade of the Gaza Strip immediately in the wake of a deadly raid on a Gaza-bound aid flotilla.

The Israeli army said the commandos resorted to force after they were attacked with sticks and stabbed as soon as they landed on the deck.

Organisers of the so-called "Freedom Flotilla" denied the military's account, saying the soldiers had started firing as soon as they landed.

Ban said he was looking at "various options" to conduct the "prompt, credible, impartial and transparent" investigation of the incident, which the UN Security Council called for Sunday.

He also noted that the Geneva-based UN Human Rights Council earlier Wednesday set up an independent international investigation into the Israeli raid.

"Everything must be done to prevent another incident of this kind," the UN boss said.

"All concerned should act with a sense of care and responsibility, and in accordance with international law."

Stressing the need "to avoid provocations," Ban said the world body raised its concerns about this with international partners and Israeli authorities.

Earlier on Wednesday, Israel deported more than 600 foreign activists whose accounts of the raid contradicted Israeli reports that its soldiers acted in self-defence.

Rudd speaks to Israeli PM over ship raid

Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has spoken to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to "convey Australia's views" about a deadly raid on an aid flotilla heading to Gaza.

Mr Rudd also asked that Israel allow assistance for the five Australians, aboard the flotilla, who were detained after the incident.

Acrobat 'may have had hundreds of women'

A circus acrobat accused of knowingly spreading HIV by having unprotected sex may have had hundreds of sexual partners, police say.
The case has sparked a national health alert, with authorities urging anyone who had unprotected sex with 32-year-old Godfrey Zaburoni to contact them and undergo an HIV test.

Queensland Health on Tuesday said Zaburoni had provided the names of 12 women with whom he'd had unprotected sex in Queensland, NSW and Victoria.
But it warned there may be other cases, including elsewhere in Australia.
Queensland police have set up a task force to track down at-risk women.

To date, Zaburoni is facing only two charges, both relating to the infection of a Gold Coast woman.

He faced Southport Magistrates Court on Wednesday on one charge of causing grievous bodily harm and one charge of intending to cause grievous bodily harm. He was remanded in custody until June 9.

Gold Coast police later said the Zimbabwean-born Australian citizen, who has admitted to being HIV positive since 1997, may have had hundreds of sexual partners.
"There could well be many others," Detective Superintendent Dave Hutchinson told reporters, and urged anyone with concerns to get tested.

Asked if there could be hundreds of victims, Det Supt Hutchinson replied: "True."
"We're well aware of the fact that Mr Zaburoni has probably had unprotected sex with other people, we would like to identify those people," he said.

"He has had a number of relationships since he's been in Australia.
"From our investigations it's only females ... some of the women identified have been very short-term relationships.
"The health and welfare issues are the greatest consideration. We would want to speak to those ladies."
Det Supt Hutchinson said Zaburoni could face life in prison if he was convicted.

Queensland's chief health officer Dr Jeannette Young said Zaburoni had spent a lot of time in Queensland since 2000, particularly the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.

She said authorities were alerted to the case last year, when a woman came forward and had been forced to make a public appeal.
"Unfortunately we've not been able to get enough details about the women he's had sex with to go to those women directly," Dr Young said.
"He's given us 12 names, we're starting with that. It's really about letting women know if they have had unprotected sex with him, they really should go and get tested."

Meanwhile, Zaburoni's friends, speaking outside the Southport Magistrates Court, said the arrest of their mate had shocked them and they did not know he was HIV positive.
Rob Gumbo, a student from Zimbabwe, said he met Zaburoni when he arrived on the Gold Coast and shared accommodation with him but never learned about his HIV status.
"It's traumatising. No one had any idea, I don't think he told anybody," he said.
"He was working here on the Gold Coast doing corporate shows - just gigs here and there."
Lochlainn Darroch said he and Zaburoni became friends after meeting at a Gold Coast nightclub.
"I was as shocked as everyone else (to learn he was HIV positive)," he said.

UK army sorry for firing range 'mosques'  news link

The British military has apologised for offending a Muslim group by using structures resembling mosques at a target range.
The military says it did not intend for the structures to look like mosques and that the structures were not actually being fired on.
The Bradford Council for Mosques is calling for the immediate removal of the structures at the Bellerby firing range at Catterick Garrison in North Yorkshire, 400km north of London.
The group's chief executive, Mohammed Saleem Khan, says it is obvious the structures look like mosques.
Military officials said on Thursday they want to meet with the Muslim group to explain that no offence was intended. Officials have not said whether the structures will be removed.

A 13-year-old Yemeni girl who had been forced into marriage died five days after her wedding when she suffered a rupture in her sex organs and haemorrhaging, according to a local human rights organisation.

Woman strangled to death go-karting.  news link

A woman was strangled to death yesterday after her Islamic head dress became tangled in a go-kart axle.
The 27-year-old woman was holidaying with family at the Port Stephen's Go-Kart track on the NSW Central Coast when the freak accident occurred.
The Herald newspaper reports that the woman went into cardiac arrest after her hijab became caught at high speed and tightened around her neck.
Paramedics said the woman suffered severe neck injuries. She was flown to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition but died a short time later.
One witness said the woman's kart just "hit the wall".
"[It] stopped and she was just slumped over," the woman said.
It is believed the victim's family saw the entire incident.
Police seized the go-kart yesterday afternoon while WorkCover is investigating the death.

US Senator Dianne Feinstein believes scores of freed Guantanamo inmates have returned to Jihad.
Dozens of released Guantanamo detainees have returned to the battlefield, a senior US senator says, urging the Barack Obama administration not release more inmates from the war-on-terrorism prison camp.

US Senator Dianne Feinstein told CBS television's Face the Nation program about a third of former inmates at the US naval base who have returned to fight against US interests come from Yemen, the new focal point in the US fight against terrorism.

"If you look at Yemen, and we're taking a good look at Yemen, what you see is, I think, at least 24 or 28 are confirmed returned to the battlefield in Yemen, and a number are suspected," said Feinstein, head of the Senate Intelligence Committee.

"If you combine the suspected and the confirmed, the number I have is 74 detainees have gone back into the fight, and I think that's bad," she said.

"I think the Gitmo experience is not one that leads to rehabilitation," Feinstein added.

Her views were seconded by Congressman Peter Hoekstra, the top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, who appeared on the same CBS television program.

"These people are released and a number of them go back to the battlefield," he said.

"When these Gitmo detainees find their way back on the battlefield, they're no longer focused on the conflict in Pakistan, Afghanistan or Iraq," he said.

"They form the corps of people who want to attack the United States. It's a national security, homeland security issue."

Their remarks came just days after a Pentagon spokesman confirmed that an increasing number of former detainees from the US prison in Guantanamo have forged links to militant groups after their release.

Spokesman Geoff Morrell told reporters last week the precise number remained classified, but was in keeping with a Defence Department report in April that found about 14 per cent of former Guantanamo inmates had engaged in or were suspected of having ties to militants.

The issue has taken on heightened importance after a failed attack on a US airliner on Christmas Day was tied to al-Qaeda's branch in Yemen, where two former Guantanamo detainees are believed to be acting as senior leaders.

The Australian Defence Force (ADF) is using US-made gunsights with biblical references etched on them as they fight the Taliban in Afghanistan.

The ADF has several hundred of the sights, which are renowned by elite troops for their accuracy over long range, The Australian reports.

The gunsights, also used by US, British and New Zealand troops, have caused concern among military leaders that they may fuel views among extremists that the West is waging a war against Islam.

Among the coded inscriptions were JN8:12, an apparent reference to John 8:12: "When Jesus spoke again to the people he said 'I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.'"

"The Department of Defence was unaware of the significance of the manufacturer's serial number," the spokesman said.

"The sights were procured because they provide mature technology which is highly reliable, in wide use by our allies and best meet Defence requirements. Soldiers are confident in the utility of the sight and the positive and proven effect which it is having on operations."

The Wixom, Michigan-based maker of the sights, Trijicon, has a multi-year, $US660 million ($A726.55 million) contract with the US Marine Corps and other contracts with the US Army to supply the sights.

The ADF is investigating how to remove biblical references etched on to gunsights.

New Zealand's defence force said on Thursday Biblical citations on markings on weapon sights used by its troops in Afghanistan would be removed as they were inappropriate, said defence force spokesman Major Kristian Dunne

Clean-cut singer Michael Bublé received a battering in the UK media today as his former girlfriend revealed intimate details of their life together.

Ex-model turned hairpiece maker Tiffany Bromley told the News of the World newspaper that the "mum's favourite" singer regularly smoked marijuana, swore and stuffed himself with biscuits and cakes when he got the "marijuana munchies".

A teenager told both of her parents to "die now" after stabbing both of them in a frenzied attack at the family's Gold Coast apartment, a court has been told.

Kaihana Tahseen Hussain, now 20, has pleaded not guilty in the Supreme Court in Brisbane to the murder of 41-year-old Shaheda Hussain and the attempted murder of Dr Muhammad Hussain, now 52, at Southport on the evening of October 9, 2006.

Hussain has also pleaded not guilty to a lesser alternative charge of malicious act with intent in relation to her father.

On the first day of her trial, crown prosecutor Michael Byrne SC told the court Hussain called her parents into their bedroom and blindfolded them, saying she had surprise gifts for them.

He said Dr Hussain would give evidence she then used a 20cm knife to stab each of them once in the torso.

"He'll tell you that while he was standing in the bedroom he felt something penetrate into his chest or stomach area and he felt a warm sensation," Mr Byrne said.

Mr Byrne said while Dr Hussain and his wife were both bleeding profusely, their teenage daughter mocked them.

"She said something to the effect 'Die both of you now'," Mr Byrne said.

He told the court the "deliberate and violent attack" was the culmination of Hussain's anger at her parents over their perceived strictness.

The court was told Hussain was furious they wouldn't allow her to move to Sydney to be with a 20-year-old man she had formed a close friendship with over the internet.

Mr Byrne said she had expressed a desire to convert from Islam to Christianity, which had angered her parents.

The alleged attack took place the day before Hussain was due to start at a new school on the Gold Coast.

The court was told when police arrived on the scene Hussain was dishevelled and upset, and that she told them she had been attacked by her father.

"The accused has said on a number of occasions that the injuries were inflicted by her father on himself and her mother," Mr Byrne said.

The court was told Hussain had no cuts on her following the attack, and that her DNA was not found anywhere on the knife blade or handle.

The trial continues.

A jury has found a woman not guilty of murdering her mother and trying to kill her father.

The jury found her not guilty of murder, attempted murder, and the alternative charges of manslaughter and malicious act with intent.

During the trial, the jury heard Hussain told police she saw her father use a knife to stab his wife twice at the family's rented apartment in Southport, on the Gold Coast.

In the interview, Hussain told police she had taken her father into the bedroom and blindfolded him so she could give him a "surprise" gift she brought back from a trip to Bangladesh.

She said while she was looking for the present in another room she could hear her parents arguing.

Her father was talking "quite aggressively", she said.

"The next thing I knew, and this happened within like a split second, my dad had the knife in his hand and he stabbed my mum," the court heard that she'd told police.

She said when her father came after her he bore a stab wound.

But Dr Hussain denied, under defence questioning, being the one who carried out the attack
